US Shoe Shining Championship

For the inaugural edition of the U.S. Shoe Shining Championships, we are thrilled to partner with Saphir, shoegazingblog, theshoesnob and kirby allison. The champion will be awarded a pair of shoes from Bridlen, a Saphir shoe care kit, a gold medal, and the esteemed title of U.S. Champion. This event aims to showcase the exceptional talent of shoe shiners in the U.S., and we expect it to have the same media attention and recognition as seen in world championships held in London and other national contests in countries like Japan, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

Join us at 3pm on Saturday, October 14th at the VENUE DETAILS for the finals of the U.S. Shoe Shining Championships. Participants will showcase their skills on a Tan cap toe oxford from Bridlen. The task isn't just about achieving the glossiest shine; the jury will be looking for overall craftsmanship, and the extent of the shoe that has been polished, among other criteria.

Where: The Kosciuszko Foundation, 15 E 65th St, New York, near Central Park on the Upper East Side.

Time: 11am - 7pm

Entry: Walk-in (No Registration Required)

Finalists are provided with Saphir Medaille d’Or Pate de Lux in their chosen color, Saphir Medaille d’Or Mirror Gloss in neutral, water, a brush, and a nylon cloth. They can bring their polishing cloth. With just 20 minutes on the clock, participants will race against time to produce the best finish. If you've followed world championship competitions in the past, you'd know that these short spans can produce some truly breathtaking results. The victor will be crowned the U.S. Shoe Shining Champion of 2023.
