New shell cordovan colours

This was a type of leather we had no experience with. Shell is considered by many as one of the best leathers for dress shoes. Brands have been built on the popularity of certain styles made on cordovan, Alden comes to mind. So what is shell cordovan? Shell cordovan is a highly prized and exceptionally durable leather made from the dense and smooth hindquarters of horsehide. This rare leather is renowned for its incredible strength, rich patina, and unique luster that only improves with age.



We got our hands on the samples from shinki in the middle of 2022 but we decided that we would launch with one style in one colour. The Longwing derby on the Rui last in Bordeaux was launched in November 2022. It was offered as a limited edition only to existing customers.

Since the program was a success we opened up the founders limited to the website and added new colours over the course of 2023 with Cognac. We now are launching a limited edition Green shell option with the Service boot on the Rui boot last.
