Crafted from the finest repello suede skins from Charles F Stead and Italian Suede from mastrotto. The Unlined shoes are made on some of our popular lasts to ensure the best fit. Unlined shoes do not require a break-in period and are comfortable right from first time you put them on.
THE REPELLO SUEDE
Repello is a fine napped calf suede from the prestigious 100+ year old tannery of Charles F Stead where the hide is double bathed and aniline dyed to create a velvety effect. The depth of color achieved on this suede is second to none. The tannage also provides increased resistance to staining, which remains effective throughout the life of the shoe.
WATER RESISTANCE
Repello suede is water resistant and repels water. It is completely fine to spill a little bit of water on the top or go out on a rainy day. The leather is treated to ensure that the water will not stain the suede. We dare say that the repello suede is made for rainy days. The repello suede is not water proof, standing in a puddle of water is not advised.
SLOW PIT TANNED LEATHER SOLES
Pit tanning takes 8 - 12 months to make, and goes through a natural dyeing and tanning process using vegetable extracts and tannins. Since heat is not used in the process, the natural steeping process over many different pits takes time and only a handful of tanneries that have decades of experience have perfected this process. The end result is a tough, yet flexible sole, resistant to abrasion and naturally water resistant.
NITRILE RUBBER
A rubber sole with a high percentage of nitrile content, this makes the rubber sole more robust. It has very long life, fair amount of flexibility and also has a clean look to the outsole. Compared to all other forms of rubber soles, this is one of the highest in terms of specifications and is comparable to military grade rubber soles.

This unlined loafer, made with supremely soft Janus calfskin suede from Charles F Stead. not only moulds around your feet, it is light and breezy, perfect for summer. The Janus suede is special in that it is a reverse suede. This special loafer is usually very fast to sell out and wait times are a bit longer due to the unique upper leather. The flexible Italian leather soles make it airy and easy on your feet.
