What is Museum Calf Leather
One of the leathers that many of you have been asking for and we finally have now in stock is the museum calf from zonta. This took a while, a year almost to get our hands on and we now have it in brown, black/gray and green.
So what is the museum calf and why did we go around trying to get it is because we started our journey in something called the patina effect which a lot of people liked. It's a craft on its own but one where the leather doesn't age as well as we like it to. Here in the museum calf, it's the effect that we are trying to get from the patina shoe, but already done in the tannery because getting that cloudy two tone shade isn’t easy.
Brown Museum Calf Leather
Been quite popular for a while now and because that leather is made in the tannery tends to hold color much better over time. And we've got the green museum calf which is our personal favorite. It's got depths of green, a bit of black in it. And the brown museum calf, the most popular one kind of has two shades of brown, lighter and a darker brown, a little bit more on the casual side as far as leather options are concerned but the fine grain and the kind of styles we're putting it on adds formality to it as well. So that's our museum calf, a very fine grain leather from a nice renowned tannery in Italy called Zonta out of popular demand, it's something we hope to have for the rest of this year and we might get go out of stock sooner than than that but let's see if it's popular enough we might bring it back a year or two later again.
